Peter Keenan

Director of Managed Investments

With 20 years of experience in the trading arena in the Chicago and London markets, Peter Keenan began his career with Kottke Associates in the soybean options pit at the Chicago Board of Trade. Keenan’s career with Kottke then took him to London as Managing Director of their London office, where he managed a group specializing in interest rate products. In his role, Keenan oversaw all trading by the group on the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE) where he was a seat holder, as well as a member of the Euro-Swiss Pit Committee.

A return to the States with Cargill’s Grain Division put Keenan back in the agricultural pits at the CBOT. As a Corn Options Specialist there, he provided information to product managers to assist with hedging, and was a market maker on the floor and in the over-the-counter markets. Eventually Keenan made the move to electronic trading as a senior trader with Geneva Trading, where, in addition to managing an individual trading account, he also mentored traders, helped pilot market-making programs and liaised with exchanges.

In 2007, Keenan returned to his roots with Kottke Associates where he managed a group of electronic traders prior to being named Director of Managed Investments in January of 2011.

With a broad range of experience, Keenan has been member of the CBOT, the CME and the LIFFE Exchange, and has served as a member of various pit committees. Keenan is married with three children and lives in Evanston, IL.
